Rowan's Milk Cotton is a beautifully soft cotton based addition to the family, so called because the yarn contains 30% milk protein. In order
for yarn to be produced from the milk protein casein the milk must be
dehydrated and skimmed, the protein can then be extracted. It is then
fluidised and in this form it can be spun and blended with other fibers
such as cotton. We have to wonder, even while we marvel at how fun this yarn is to work with, who thought to figure out that a spinning fiber could be made from milk??
